New Name
Pinto (the name given to my new kitten by the vet) has officially been changed. Skrapskallion has moved in. He’s gonna be a long haired boy, but for now he hasn’t grown his indercoat to match his long silky guard hairs, so he often looks scruffy. He absolutely loves to explore under things and up in places I rarely get to, so many times I find him covered with dust bunnies or cobwebs I never knew existed. He likes to eat spiders and their webs I’ve discovered, which is gross, but a plus. I don’t want to see it, but having a new and gleeful spider killer is a plus. He’s a bit of a rapscallion in that he tests limits. He’s learning slowly that no means no, but it’ll be a while before it sinks in completely - for now he is subject to occasional whaps and scolding by Mini toes when he fails to realize she means it when she swats his nose for straifing her tail. He’s catching on that his jingle balls are safer playthings than she is once she’s had enough play. He’s scrappy though. Hence the name scruffy, scrappy rapscallion - Skrapskallion.
Rare quiet time….

Oh yeah, I’m tidying up Winter Wonders 9. I hope to have time to get it ready to post sometime this week.

Ohh…what a pretty boy. I can’t believe that angelic-looking creature could deserve to be Skrapskallion. You’ll have to post some picture of him awake and in mischief to prove it!
Hope everything is good on your end. (When you have the time, you’ll have to give us the update on how the new job is working out.)

Patty, nice name, Skrapskallion, I suspect he’ll live up to it.

I too would like to know how your new job is going, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bit tiring. Chuckle.
I was beginning to wonder if you had misplaced chapter Nine of Winter Wonders.
Thanks for the pics.
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.

I’m still working out my old job’s 30 day notice requirement for Directors. There is so much to do to tidy up loose ends and leave a fresh start for the person who inherits my shoes/chair. I wish I could just walk away, but my heart won’t let me. I need to leave my team in a tidy and ready to go position so they don’t have to face what I did and that’s recreating everything from scratch. It’s a bit overwhelming, and I’ve had quite a few panic attacks that there’s no way to do it. This weekend and yesterday and today have been challenging and tearful.
There’s a good chance that we’ll be descended upon by the accreditation surveyors next week. I’m praying they aren’t coming here, please pray with me. I’m not sure I can face the stress and possible failure that will come of it. Because of the aweful politics going on this past year many essential things didn’t happen as they should have. I got blown off reminding the “O’s” that politics or not, the nuts and bolts still must be kept tight. Did they listen? Not often enough! And now there’s no time to get this year’s work on the books before they come so they won’t go looking for work that while done, never got appropriately reported up the chain. I got handed new project after new project and then burried under bullshit make work action plans to improve things we already do better than anyone else in our division.
I leave this job two weeks from today, and start my new one on St Patty’s day. Auspicious dontcha think? I’ll have 5 days of R&R, I hope it’s enough.
Before I leave though, next Friday, I have to present 5, 10 and 20 year service awards to members of my team. It’s going to be hard. I’m really going to miss them.
Fear of the unknown, and loss of a great team … potent fodder for worry… that plus what I still have to do has me needing cuddles and lovey doveys from my kitties more than ever.
Skrappy’s a snuggler of the very best kind just like kitty monster was, and minitoes is. He sure is a cutie, and he’s smart …. too smart for me. LOLOLOLOL
